Gaur ecology and age-sex identification training workshop was organized by the Human and Elephant Voices Network (HEV) to local researchers and HEV members. This workshop aimed to increase understanding of gaur ecology and age-sex identification. In addition, field data collection on safe distance for wildlife watching including elephants and gaurs in the area was carried out by the local team around Khao Yai National Park. Wildlife tourism is one of our approaches that we use as a tool for mitigating human-wildlife conflict ecosystem and promoting peaceful coexistence. Now, field data collection on elephants and gaurs and safe distance tests have been in progress.
The workshop was trained by Nutnaree Pitimol (researcher and analyst in the wildlife tourism team, HEV)
